Meet the team at Hewitson & Harker
Peter joined Hewitson and Harker in 1970 when the firm was run by Geoffrey B Harker as a newly qualified Solicitor and eventually he took over the practice where he remains to this day. He is an active member of STEP. He loves passing on his 50 years wealth of knowledge to the trainees and now practices law within his consultant role. In his spare time he loves to write poetry.
Director/Head of Private Client
Alex specialises in domestic and commercial conveyancing transactions, all agricultural matters and the preparation of Trusts and Wills. He is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners and of the Agricultural Law Association.
Alex has been with the practice since 1999. He has a Ph.D from the University of Nottingham and has taught, both at Nottingham and, as a Tutorial Fellow, at Lancaster University, the latter in International Law and International Humanitarian Law.
He is Kirkby Stephen Town counsellor and in his spare time is a keen fell runner and loves spending time with his family
Director/Head of Residential Conveyancing
Georgina joined the firm originally as a Locum and loved the place that much she stayed !! She has over 24 years’ experience as a Residential Conveyancer and is now head of the residential team. In her spare time she likes walking with friends and spending time with her grandchildren
Director/Head of New Build
Scott heads up our newly opened Cheshire office and also our New Build Team. Scott has a law degree from Leeds Beckett University. He is also a qualified Licensed Conveyancer with over 15 years of experience and specialises in residential and new build conveyancing. He has acted for private clients, property investors as well as both local and large national house builders. He is recommended by a number of mortgage brokers, estate agents and house builders to act for their clients due to his professional, friendly and efficient service. In his Spare time he enjoys socialising with friends and walking with his sausage dog
Office Manager and Head of Accounts
Karen joined the firm in 2014 and is AAT qualified. She is the head of our busy accounts department and also assists Peter and Alex with probate matters In her spare time she loves going for long walks in the Cumbrian countryside with her family and socialising with friends
